Illustrations from the first illustrated edition of De Monstrorum, published in 1634 by Fortunius Licetus. The book is sometimes known as De Monstris and went through several editions. These are teratological illustrations from the text, consisting of malformed animals and humans. The copperplates are wonderful and executed in excellent style.
